Jane Burke has been practicing Tai Chi for over 20 years. Before that, she trained as a professional ballet dancer in England.
After just one year of Tai Chi study, she became a teaching assistant. She had an intensive study period of 9 years with local Grand Master Zhu Chang Hai, in which time she competed in the Qingdao International Wushu competition China, winning gold medal (2002), and represented her country in the Beijing World Wushu Championships (2007).
Jane took her first teaching qualifications in 2004, becoming a 4th Duan. She continues to study with Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang, and other members of the Chen family on their annual world tours.
Jane is a qualified teacher through the Chen Xiao Wang World Taijiquan Association.
Master Joe Lok of Hong Kong and the Natural Health Academy awarded Jane Instructor status for the Phoenix Qigong form in 2016.
Over the last 10 years Jane took her interest in wellbeing into hands-on therapeutic training, to complement her teaching and performing work. She has qualifications in Swedish Massage and a continually growing list of complementary therapies. Jane has a treatment room just outside of Holywood. Bookings by appointment only.
Jane loves teaching, performing and helping others through therapy. Therapeutic clients usually travel to her, though she teaches all over the greater Belfast area, with diverse groups of age and ability.
